Combining high-level artistic, conceptual and technical skills with the utilization of advanced electroacoustic technology, Martin Stig Andersen blurs the dividing line between film music and sound design, broadening the scope of storytelling in film.
Just as every film requires an elaborate set design, cinematography etc. it needs a coherent sound design contributing to the mood and structure of the film. On the basis of the artistic intentions of the film maker, a signature sound contributing towards making the film an integrated, engaging experience is designed.
By definition electroacoustic music is music that exploits electroacoustic devices in the creation of sound, and is to be projected over loudspeakers rather than performed by instrumentalists. Electroacoustic music does not seek to imitate instrumental music but to venture into new sonic worlds.
In projects calling for a traditional film score, a combined sound design and music editing solution is offered. Having a background as orchestrator, Martin Stig Andersen is capable of appreciating the intentions of the instrumental composer, and to interpret the potentials of a score in relation to image.
The surround mixing crafted by Martin Stig Andersen goes far beyond the panning of monophonic sources. By means of psychoacoustic concepts and advanced technologies from Dolby Laboratories, TC Electronic, and ambisonics-developer Michael Gerzon, a realistic surround sound experience is created.
The audio post production studio features a 5.1 surround sound setup (Genelec 1032A monitors) meeting the ITU recommendation 775. Being able to deliver discrete 5.1 and Dolby matrixed RtLt, the studio facilitates the complete mixing for smaller and medium projects, and pre-mixing for theatrical productions requiring a full-scale dubbing stage for finalizing.
